| Sigma is a leader of the frozen and refrigerated food production and distribution in Mexico. In 2004, the company registered sales of 1,220 million dollars and 488 thousand tons of processed foods. This level of volume places Sigma as the company with greater presence at the dinner table of Mexican families within the markets in which it participates. Sigma is a source of employment for more than 20,000 people. Sigma makes up a part of ALFA since 1980, but it counts on the legacy of leading brands that have enjoyed consumer preference for more than 50 years. The company originally dedicated themselves to the production and commercialization of cold cuts, an industry of which it is a leader. However, making use of synergy resulting from their network of refrigerated food distribution, as of 1994 it decided to take part in various markets such as Yoghurt, Cheeses and Prepared Meals.
